Throwback to Coffeeholic Days

Not just me, but A LOT of people are simply addicted to coffee. Others have slowly transitioned to tea but my heart remains loyal. Coffee and I have been in this “relationship” for a looong time and I don’t see any breakup coming.

When we say coffee hangout with friends, almost everyone goes to Starbucks (kids shorten this to Starbs or Sbux) or Coffee Bean (CBTL). I don’t have any faves between the two. However, I have observed that the Starbucks at Ayala New Wing gets more crowded compared to other branches. On the other hand, the one at IT Park that targets the BPO industry normally gets loud at night.  So Starbucks has this coffee card that you can purchase and reload for Php300. Every reload earns you a star which you need to accumulate to a certain number so you’d get a freebie. You first register it online and voila! You get a freebie on your next Starbucks visit.

For CBTL, they also have this swirl card that works like an SM Advantage card (LOL SM?) but it is a loyalty and a cash card at the same time. I mainly use it for free wifi access since CBTL does not simply give out their wifi credentials when you purchase. It also needs online registration so you can keep track of your points, and for wifi access purposes, you just present the card upon purchase.

We also have Bo’s coffee, which is a local coffee shop that have branches sprouted all over Cebu. The Bo’s near Redemptorist church is looking swell with their industrial effect interior design.

Then we have J Co’s coffee and Krispy Kreme’s (KK) that complement their sweet doughnuts. For J Co, I love their J Coccino and for KK, anything dark goes.

Café Laguna, which is one of the best Filipino restaurants here in Cebu has a brewed coffee as well that perfectly blends with a native delicacy, bibingka. Best ender for a heavy dinner.

I love Sunday afternoons at Brioche with their hot dark brewed coffee.
